Today we explore the new hype deck, Grixis Archfiend Combo. This is a combo that relies on Archfiend of the Dross and Metamorphic Alteration. All you have to do is play Archfiend and then turn your opponent's creatures into Archfiend of the Dross with Metamorphic Alteration. Since the transformed card won't have any oil counters on it, the opponent will die on their upkeep if they can't remove it. However, they will still die if they put the trigger on the stack and then attempt to remove it since the game will use last known information and see that they did not remove a counter or have one to remove. Everything else in the deck just plays like a Rakdos/Grixis Midrange deck. So, you are a midrange deck with a combo finish, this is great against decks like Mono-Green Devotion or even aggressive strategies, giving you a way to win when they play everything on the battlefield.
