Hey everyone! Today we will be checking out a sweet Historic deck that best friend, Justin Parnell, made. He wanted a deck in Historic that worked around Kroxa really well. It is essentially a Mono-Black deck that is splashing for Red for Kroxa, Bedevil (sideboard), and Embercleave! If you have not lived until you have swung with a Kroxa that picked up an Embercleave!
Let us look at the decklist!

This is a pretty grindy hand disruption deck that can also use its graveyard. Just because the deck is grindy does not mean it cannot end the game quickly, though. Uncontested Knight of the Ebon Legion and Rotting Regisaur will quickly close out a game. Rotting Regisaur will end the game with Embercleave even if they have creatures. Phyrexian Obliterator is for decks that cannot remove it without damaging it. Bedevil is for decks where you need more removal or need to blow up pesky artifacts like Forsaken Monument. Witch's Vengeance is great against Elves, Goblins, and Wizards. The rest is self-explanatory. Just bring in Heartless Act when you want more removal, Lantern for graveyard decks, and Duress against decks that have a lot of non-creature spells, like control or non-creature Yorion.
Until next time!
