Currently Standard is looking a little "solved" with B/G Midrange, Mardu Vehicles and Saheeli Combo being the top contenders. These 3 decks are all fairly fast but attack from completely different angles and this makes brewing quite difficult. There has been a Mono-Black Eldrazi list floating around but I wanted to try a B/G version that pushes the synergies a little harder. We can leverage Metallic Mimic for some powerful draws curving into Catacomb Sifter and Scion Summoner. With Fatal Push, and 2-for-1s like Bearer of Silence and Distended Mindbender, we should be able to survive the early game and grind our opponent out in the late game. On top of that, we have some sweet lands like Ruins of Oran-Rief, Hissing Quagmire, and Westvale Abbey to add power to our draw as we start to flood out.

For its maiden voyage, I think this list did fairly well. The synergies weren't quite as powerful as I hoped, but were still quite good. That said, Bearer of Silence, Scion Summoner, Catacomb Sifter and Matter Reshaper could not be answered easily and the times I was able to leverage these cards as full 2-for-1s, this deck felt really powerful. I think we can push this deck more in that direction by incorporating a little more removal and focusing on the creatures that don't die easily to removal. I think the next iteration will look like the following.
B/G Eldrazi v2.0 ? Aether Revolt Standard | Andrew Boswell
- Creatures (26)
- 3 Reality Smasher
- 3 Scion Summoner
- 4 Bearer of Silence
- 4 Catacomb Sifter
- 4 Matter Reshaper
- 4 Metallic Mimic
- 4 Walking Ballista
- Instants (6)
- 2 Spatial Contortion
- 4 Fatal Push
- Artifacts (3)
- 3 Heart of Kiran
- Lands (25)
- 2 Swamp
- 1 Westvale Abbey
- 3 Blighted Fen
- 3 Hissing Quagmire
- 4 Aether Hub
- 4 Blooming Marsh
- 4 Corrupted Crossroads
- 4 Ruins of Oran-Rief
- Sideboard (15)
- 4 Transgress the Mind
- 4 Thought-Knot Seer
- 3 Distended Mindbender
- 2 Grasp in Darkness
- 2 Ob Nixilis Reignited
Here we are cutting 4 Thought-Knot Seer, 2 Distended Mindbender and 2 Westvale Abbey for 3 Reality Smash, 2 Spatial Contortion and 3 Blighted Fen. This makes us more resistant to removal while also packing more removal and we fit in a 25th land to help with consistency.
Also, for or a reference here is the original Mono-Black version that got people talking:
