The biggest event in Magic's history went down in Las Vegas, Nevada this past weekend. 4,500 players showed up to play Modern Masters limited. That's hundreds of thousands of cards, fifteen rounds, and one of the sweetest limited formats in some time. After fifteen rounds of swiss, the Top 8 draft began. This format features all manner of awesome archetypes; Black-White Rebels, Blue-Black Faeries, Affinity, Giants, Five-Color Green, even Storm, and we saw many of these archetypes drafted in the Top 8. We even saw Madison Jonas with a deck featuring both Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker and Pestermite!
In the end, the other competitors fell to Madison Jonas and his Blue-Red-White control deck and Neal Oliver's Blue-White-Red Faeries deck featuring Auriok Salvagers deck. The finals featured a flurry Spellstutter Sprites and spellbombs, but when the dust settled it was Neal Oliver who took the event down. You can take a look at Oliver's deck below and head over to Inside the Deck or DailyMTG.com for more coverage from Grand Prix Las Vegas.
