Thomas Takes Down Strasbourg

Reddit

1,365 player showed up to play Legacy in Strasbourg this weekend. Legacy is traditionally a very open and diverse format, and the metagame this weekend certainly did not disappoint. At the end of Day One, there were four unique, undefeated decks - Omniscience, Storm, Elves, and Death and Taxes - and a multitude of other decks represented at the top tables.

After Day One, the field narrowed to 172 competitors, and the battle for Top 8 ensued. After sixteen rounds, the Top 8 was decided and it was just as diverse as the undefeated decks from the previous day. Death and Taxes, RUG and BUG Delver, Sneak and Show, Merfolk, and 4-Color Punishing Maverick all made the cut. Notably, there are only four copies of Show and Tell and seven copies of Deathrite Shaman in the Top 8, while there are twelve copies of Mother of Runes.

In the end, the semifinals were a RUG Delver mirror between Jacob Wilson and Alexander Hayne as well as a Death and Taxes mirror between Thomas Enevoldsen and Michael Bonde. Jacob Wilson and Thoas Enevoldsen went on to meet in the finals, and in the end it was Thomas who emerged victorious. For more information on the event, as well as the best-performing decks, head over to the official DailyMTG coverage.

Congratulations to Thomas Enevoldsen, your Grand Prix Strasbourg Champion!
