This past weekend China's best gathered to battle it out for the right to represent their nation and fight to retain the Team World Championship title, however their battle was delayed after the disaster of a giant mudslide claimed thousands of lives. The disaster was so horrible that the Chinese State Council declared Sunday, Aug. 15 a day of mourning for all of China. This forced organizers to move the day 2 competition of their Nationals to today, Aug. 16th.
At the end of Day 1, a single player stood atop the field with a perfect 7-0 record, Jun Wei Mai. The only member of last year's World Championship team still in contention at the end of day two is Zhi Yang Zhang at 5-2.
