Hasbro held a conference call for their investors and stockholders this morning to discuss the results of the second quarter. Among the details discussed, it was noted that their game business was driven by the sales for Magic: The Gathering. As noted in the Wall Street Journal:
The phone call was low on details specific to Magic, other than its presence in helping the revenue in Hasbro's Games and Puzzles segment.
What does this mean?
It means little in direct relation to Magic. The game is performing strong for the parent company and should remain on course with no actions taken by Hasbro. Though revenues for Hasbro did not meet predictions the company still made money and is doing well. When they say "Revenue Dropped" they mean that it dropped from their predictions for the quarter, not that it was a loss for the company.
