For a while there, Goblins was the best deck in Historic.
Muxus, Goblin Grandee exploded onto the Historic scene from Historic Horizons: Jumpstart and vaulted Goblins into tier one, but as time and many new releases have entered the fold, they have slid further and further down the tournament ladder. Not anymore!
As I went over two weeks ago, Rundvelt Hordemaster has reinvigorated Goblins in all formats, and once again Muxus is ready to rule Historic!
They say the family that plays Goblins together, stays together, and both my wife Nicole and I played this deck to high Mythic last month, with Nicole finishing the season top 100 exclusively playing this deck.
Rundvelt Hordemaster is the absolute truth, providing the deck both the two-drop as well as the power boost it needed to not be so reliant on Muxus, Goblin Grandee. Now the deck only plays two copies of the six-drop, as it is able to play the classic grindy Goblins game that Goblins is known for in other formats. Make goblins, kill stuff, make more goblins, fire off some attacks, and reload and do it all again, while Sling-Gang Lieutenant gives you the reach you need to win outside the combat step as well.
If you love Goblins, it's a great time to be playing Magic!
