Welcome to another episode of Drafting with Big Nass. I don’t have much of a preamble this week, so let’s get right to the Draft. As always, text recap follows the video links.

Pack 1, Pick 1:
My Pick:
This pack is quite stacked, but I think the choice comes down to Requiem Angel, Immerwolf, and Markov Warlord. It’s very close between those three, but my rule is: When in doubt, take the rare. I also feel that the Angel is the safest choice—it’s good in any deck that has at least a couple Plains, whereas taking the Immerwolf is right away forcing R/G Werewolves, and the Warlord is only good in aggressive decks.
Pack 1, Pick 2:
My Pick:
I kind of wished I took that Immerwolf now. Pyreheart Wolf is one of the best uncommons in the set as it makes blocking super-awkward for your opponent. We’ve now passed two Tragic Slips, so it’s worth noting that drafting black is probably out of the question.
Pack 1, Pick 3:
My Pick:
Were I in the R/G Werewolves deck, the pick here would be Forge Devil, but Hollowhenge Spirit is good enough that I’m willing to keep white a possibility.
Pack 1, Pick 4:
My Pick:
Blood Feud is pretty good, but it’s a little on the slow side. I think it’s better to just take the Burden of Guilt here.
Pack 1, Pick 5:
My Pick:
Well, R/W sucks but this is a really late Markov Warlord. I’m not completely unopposed to drafting this combination, but if I open a bomb in another color I wouldn’t be upset about switching.
Pack 1, Pick 6:
My Pick:
That’s a pretty late Stormbound Geist, but Wolfhunter's Quiver being an artifact gives it an edge. It’s a bit of a pet card, but I really do think it’s better than anything else here.
Pack 1, Pick 7:
My Pick:
Sigh . . . an opportunity for a sweet Werewolf deck come and gone. I’m just taking the Recluse here in case I have to switch colors. Curse of Bloodletting is not something I’m really interested in playing.
Pack 1, Pick 8:
My Pick:
Pack 1, Pick 9:
My Pick:
I have no idea how this happened, but I’ll take it. It’s looking more likely that I’m going to settle on R/W.

Pack 2, Pick 1:
My Pick:
There go my hopes of opening a bomb rare. I was tempted to take Prey Upon, but there’s no real reason to think I’m going to end up in green.
Pack 2, Pick 2:
My Pick:
1-drops are pretty good in this format, and Stromkirk Noble is among the better ones.

Pack 2, Pick 4:

I would normally take Blazing Torch here, but I’m in need of 2-drops.

I’m not too crazy about being in R/W, and I think the deck would have been much better if I just went all-in on that Immerwolf. I just can’t resist the allure of shiny rares I guess.
The deck performed better than I expected, and the miser cards definitely stole some games for me. I ended up losing in the finals to a combination of mana problems and some judgment calls that didn’t go my way.
I really do like the R/G Werewolf deck a lot even though I’ve only managed to draft it once. I hope I can do it again and record it for you guys.
Until next time, may you always top deck a lethal Markov Warlord.
