Aaron Forsythe, Director of R&D, retweeted this announcement earlier today. The popular match game/RPG mash up is getting the Magic treatment according to Game Informer. It will be available on Android and iOS platforms and will be free-to-play. The game is being developed by D3 Go!.

The release from Business Wire provides more details. The game is making its debut at PAX Prime this weekend (August 28-31). The partnership ties the strategic elements of Puzzle Quest to the worlds of Magic.

In the wake of Arena of the Planeswalkers it appears that Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro are more willing to let the wonderful landscape of Magic serve as the setting for other games. With a movie in the works and acquisition a lingering buzzword, it appears that Magic is moving into new realms of marketing reinforce its brand.
