Pauper Premiere League Week 7

Reddit

It's that time of the week once again as we enter week number seven of the Pauper Premiere League, sponsored by CoolStuffInc.com and Wizards of the Coast. Last week had some crazy games with equally crazy decks, especially that of Adam Yurchick's en-Kor Combo, bringing him ultimately to a 5-1 finish and the highest placing in the Swiss rounds. In case you missed any of the action, you can check out each and every previous round in the playlist below:

Now that we've finished our Swiss matches, it's time for us to enter our final two weeks: the playoffs! Here are all the players who qualified for our playoffs and their standings.

These standings allow us to create a bracket for the event. In the initial announcement article, I laid out the guidelines for how playoffs would be set up. The way it was set to work was 4-2s would play it out amongst themselves, then face off against the 5-1 bracket, then face off all the way at the 6-0 bracket. Our bracket ended up looking something like this.

Here's the lowdown of how this will all play out:

  • The match between Michael Bonde and Brian Coval will be a single best of three match.
  • The finals will be best of five individual matches. This means one full match will be played with a deck, and then another match will be played all the way until a player has won three full matches.
  • Similarly, all other rounds will be the best of three individual matches.
  • Each player has designated a Deck A and Deck B. Deck A is the first deck they will play in the first match. Deck B will be the deck they use for their second match. After that, each player is free to choose what deck they play.

We'll be playing a bunch of matches this week, but we'll be leaving both the semifinals and the actual finals for next week. Everything else? It's happening tonight! So let's get looking at some decklists!

Brian DeMars

Chris VanMeter

Ricardo Mattana

Brian Coval

Michael Bonde

Lastly, here is our schedule for matches and commentary. The question marks are going to be based on the winner of Match 4.

I don't know about all of you, but I'm especially hyped for this week! The decks look sweet and there's going to be tons of action between multiple games. I know I can't wait to see it all unfold. We'll be live on the CoolStuffInc Twitch page at the usual 9PM EST/6PM PST, so make sure you check out the channel, give it a follow, and join us for another epic week of the Pauper Premiere League!
