Today Wizards unveiled a major change to their Organized Play structure, announcing the new system called "Planeswalker Points." The system removes the old Elo based rating system which attempted to rank the players based on rating, and instead changes rankings to be based on a points accumulating system. The more you play, and the better you perform, the better you'll rank.
