First, the current rumor is that the 2010 Grand Prix schedule will be announced on Thursday, November 5th. We've been eagerly awaiting it for nearly a month now. Though, looking back over the previous years, it wasn't until Nov. 20th 2008 that we got the 2009 schedule, and in 2007 it was in December when we got an incomplete 2008 Grand Prix schedule!

The second tip I've received is that the DCI is cracking down on premier events (mainly GPs) not being held in their namesake city, instead being held in a neighboring suburb or city. This falls on the tournament organizers who leverage the neaby metropolis' name and the lower price of the suburb's convention center or hall to maximize profits from the events. This is a major annoyance to players as it can mean long commute times from the airport and breed confusion about locations or directions. It reflects poorly on Wizards and the DCI as these are events they approved. We will see what this means, and it could be part of the delay in the actual GP schedule as they had to shuffle or relocate some events.

After publishing my GP guesses, I received a handful of tips and confirmations surrounding them. It sounds like Grand Prix San Francisco is happening, as well as Grand Prix Sydney. The Phillipines seem to be having an event, though I don't know if it will be in Manila or not. Further though there is a rumor that Florida and Georgia will not be receiving a Grand Prix event next year, which seems unfortunate as they are well placed to follow GP San Juan Puerto Rico.
