Details for Pro Tour Aetherdrift Released
MagicCon Chicago is happening early next year and with it comes the latest iteration of the Pro Tour! At the tail end of last week, Wizards revealed the information for that event - Pro Tour Aetherdrift - and we get are first look at what it's going to entail. Simply put, it's going to be comprised of Aetherdrift Limited and Standard Constructed. Standard has been receiving tons of acclaim over the past year, culminating in an epic showing at the World Championship in Vegas last month. It should be especially exciting to see how things play out on a similarly large stage this time.
If you're still looking to qualify for Pro Tour Aetherdrift, the main event of the Spotlight Series Atlanta offers invites to each of the Top 8 finishers. Make sure you check out that event and for your shot at getting in!

Golgari Midrange continues to be a major player in Standard following the rotation that came with Bloomburrow. The majority of the deck remained intact with rotation and continues to be an excellent foil to other top decks like Dimir Midrange and the various versions of Red-based Aggro. Thankfully, the deck appears to have received some new upgrades in Foundations courtesy of cards like Llanowar Elves, Scavenging Ooze, Vivien Reid, and in some cases Maelstrom Pulse. Definitely a great deck for your local RCQ season with a high chance you'll be seeing plenty of Red Aggro in your local scene!
