This is getting to be a nice little weekly routine!
For last week's video here on CoolStuffInc.com, I played a Temur Creative Koma deck that I had made Top 8 of the Insight Esports $5,000 Historic Open with that previous weekend. This week I am playing the Rakdos Monkey "Jund" deck that I made Top of the Insight Esports $5,000 Modern Open this past weekend.
Sure, we just snuck in on breakers this week, but it still counts!
As for the deck, it's another aspiringspike original. He has been on quite the tear lately and has become one of the go-to sources for Modern brew. After watching him go on a 15-0 run in three Magic Online Leagues in a row on Friday, I decided on it as my deck for both this video and the tournament.
As they say, results don't lie.

What you're looking at is essentially the most "zoomer" version possible of Modern Jund.
The new one-drop pair of Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer and Dragon's Rage Channeler are the extreme real deal, supplanting prior two to four mana threats like Tarmogoyf and Bloodbraid Elf with their extreme efficiency and must-answer status. Ragavan is essentially like a Goblin Lackey without any sort of deck-building restriction, as once it hits once the game usually starts to spiral out of control. Dragon's Rage Channeler may be even be better, as it provides an insane amount of value for only one mana, both fulling the graveyard and improving your draws while also being a superior Delver of Secrets.
Surround them with the Standard Lurrus of the Dream-Den Deck plus Mishra's Bauble fare, backed up by great removal and discard like Thoughtseize, Lightning Bolt, and the new and very impressive Unholy Fire, and you've got yourself a deck that can interact extremely well while also providing a fast clock, without the risk of putting yourself at 5 life every game like Death's Shadow.
It's a new world out there in Modern, and this deck is riding the wave at full speed!
