I think the secret is out at this point - The One Ring is a pretty powerful Magic: The Gathering card.
Of course, if you're a The Lord of the Rings fan, that should be obvious. The entire series hinges on the fate of the one little golden ring, the object that has the power to allow Sauron to conquer all of Middle-Earth and brings even the bravest warriors to their wit's end.
The question is, of course, what do we do with it?

Colorless Ramp was a deck in Historic for a while that had fallen out of favor, but gets two huge upgrades from Tales of Middle-Earth.
The deck is built around tons of mana, Karn, the Great Creator, and Ugin, the Spirit Dragon, looking to go over the top of whatever it comes up against. Mind Stone and Coldsteel Heart start the ramping, leading up to Forsaken Monument which lets you go really wild, and then the planeswalkers take over. Karn, the Great Creator is an excellent card of course, but has the double whammy of also shutting off your opponent's copies of The One Ring.
The Black splash works wonders here, with Thoughtseize providing general disruption to help you get set up for your big plays. Extinction Event is an easy to cast sweeper for decks looking to get under you, but the real prize is the new Orcish Bowmasters. Typically decks that are either very fast with lots of 1-drops or decks that are very slow with lots of counterspells and card draw are rough for ramp decks like this, but Orcish Bowmasters is excellent on each side. It's the perfect bridge card to get you through the early game.
We crushed with this deck during Ten New Brews, and while the games here were a bit awkward, there's no doubting the power of the ring!
